ART IN THE PARK
Art in the Park: A series of art and fine handcraft shows featuring juried artisans. Now in its 48th year, Art in the Park features 100 exhibitors in each of six shows May through October. Work includes: painting (oil, watercolor and acrylic), etching, stained and blown glass, basketry, wood carving and turning, clay, photography, fiber, jewelry and more. Dates for 2010 are May 15th, June 12th, July 17th, August 14th, September 11th, and October 2nd. Shows are 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Satellite parking available at Tanger Shoppes on the Parkway and Food Lion Shopping Center. Free transportation on a comfortable trolley available to the downtown and art show area available from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.

BLOWING ROCK ART & ANTIQUE SHOW
The Blowing Rock Art & History Museum (BRAHM) presents an annual celebration of Art & Antiques. View and purchase some of the best heirloom-quality furniture, pottery, jewelry, clocks, crystal, silver and more. Featuring selected vendors from throughout the East Coast, the event is open to the public for the entire weekend. One ticket is good for every day of the event.

BLOWING ROCK CHARITY HORSE SHOW
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show began in 1923. The first years brought equine enthusiasts and their families to the quaint village of Blowing Rock, North Carolina every August for a week of competition and camaraderie. Originally the event lasted for five days, but over the years it has grown to cover a period of three weeks. The show is held at the L.M. Tate Show Grounds in J.E. Broyhill Park. Steeped in tradition, this event has consistently attracted annual exhibitors from all over the United States and several foreign countries and has the distinction of being recognized as the oldest continuous outdoor horse show in America.

BLOWING ROCK TOUR OF HOMES
The St. Mary of the Hills Episcopal Church presents the Annual Tour of Homes. View the decor, architecture and gardens of some of the most noteworthy homes in Blowing Rock. Proceeds benefit the church.

BLOWING ROCK TROUT DERBY
Held each year during the first weekend of April, the Blowing Rock Trout Derby celebrates the opening of trout season in the High Country. Bring your catch to be measured for prizes and acclaim. Kids can fish in Mayview Lake in Broyhill Park, right next door to the event. The Blowing Rock Fire Department hosts a Fish Fry fundraiser each year as part of the event.

BLUE RIDGE WINE FESTIVAL
Join us for a fabulous four-day festival showcasing over 30 wineries from North Carolina and beyond. CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK AND LIGHTING OF THE TOWN
The Town of Blowing Rock celebrates the holiday season and lights the town! Join in the fun with free entertainment, music, and visits with Santa. The annual Christmas Parade makes its way down Main Street. Then, watch as the Mayor flips the switch for the Main Street wreaths and Town Hall tree!

COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY GOLF AND TENNIS TOURNAMENT
In 1985, The Blowing Rock Community Foundation, Inc. was founded to establish an endowment whose earnings would benefit the Town of Blowing Rock and its citizens. In 1989, the Blowing Rock Country Club elected to join in this worthwhile endeavor by dedicating this event to the Community Foundation. The Community Service Day Golf and Tennis Tournament is now in its 19th year. Your contribution will enable the Community Foundation to pursue its goal of service to Blowing Rock. Proceeds are used to provide scholarships for college students from Watauga County and grants to numerous local agencies and civic organizations. FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVAL AND PARADE
Join the Town of Blowing Rock for our annual festival and small-town parade! Held on the weekend closest to Independence Day. Enjoy festivities all weekend long, with free entertainment, music and games. Parade is at 2pm on Saturday.

MONDAY NIGHT CONCERT SERIES
This 50 year tradition continues in spirit and song with town sponsored concerts in the Broyhill Park Gazebo on the Lake. E.J. & Shirl's Farm House, Live! SUNDAY CONCERT IN THE PARK
Join us at the gazebo in Memorial Park for a free concert featuring authentic dixieland jazz, the calypso beat of steel drums, a local brass band, klezmer music, Grandfather Mountain Highlanders bagpipe band, country and bluegrass music, an Oktoberfest band and other musical forms. Selected Sunday afternoons at 4 pm.

SYMPHONY BY THE LAKE
The Symphony by the Lake at Chetola Resort has become a favorite summer event. Sit by the lake in the cool mountain breeze, and watch the swans drift by. Bring a picnic, or sample delicious cuisine prepared by Chetola's chef. Immerse yourself in the delightful sounds of the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra as the evening slips into night. The evening closes with a spectacular fireworks show.
