In its 56th year, Blowing Rock’s Art in the Park is renewing its commitment to the highest quality of offerings, variety and diversity of artistic media. The monthly Saturday event, which runs from May through October, returns for a third year to Park Avenue, close to Main Street and downtown Blowing Rock’s unique shops and restaurants.

Art in the Park organizers have paid special attention to the mix and variety of each show, as well as including some new or rare processes and techniques for creating art. Old favorites are returning, but new artists have been added, broadening the show’s appeal for new as well as returning visitors.

“This year was incredibly competitive, with more than 300 artists competing for only 97 booths at each show.  We have a greater variety of media this year and many new faces coming to the shows over the course of the summer. Every show will offer many different items ~ both functional and beautiful ~ for customers.” said Loni Miller, Art in the Park Director.

2018 Art in the Park dates are May 26, June 16, July 14, August 11, September 8 and October 6. Prices for objects, from a handmade postcard to a large piece of furniture, range from $5 to $10,000. Free parking is available nearby, along with frequent free trolley service from the Tanger Outlets and Food Lion.

Sprinkled around Art in the Park Saturdays will be other events and activities that should please visitors who want to stay longer than the show’s 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. hours, including an afternoon Concert in the Park each Sunday following the May through September shows.
