NC Beer Month in Blowing RockApril is Beer Month in North Carolina, where more than 145 craft breweries dot the landscape from Manteo to Murphy. But if you’re going to indulge, why not do so in North Carolina’s Prettiest Small Town, where Beer Month activities take place virtually every day?

Throughout April, local restaurants will feature North Carolina beers in tasty ways, from guest breweries to pairing events, and the Town’s own Blowing Rock Brewing Company has a Name Our Next Beer contest that can be entered on line (blowingrockbrewing.com/inspire-and-name-our-next-beer) or in person. The winning entry will be rewarded with the opportunity to help brew the inspired beer, plus a one-night stay at the Blowing Rock Ale House and Inn.

Local establishments peppering their normal fare and activities with beer-related specials include Six Pence Pub, Foggy Rock, Canyons, New Public House, Town Tavern, Mellow Mushroom, The Table at Crestwood, Timberlake’s at Chetola, Rustique and The Ale House. For a full listing of what’s happening in Blowing Rock during Beer Month, go to blowingrock.com/ncbeermonth.

All this, wrapped around SAVOR Blowing Rock (Thursday, April 14 – Sunday, April 17), which includes North Carolina beer samples at the Taste! event on Thursday and the Grand Tasting on Saturday. For more on SAVOR, go to savorblowingrock.com.

The fourth annual N.C. Beer Month is co-sponsored by Visit North Carolina and the N.C. Craft Brewers Guild. For statewide information, go to ncbeermonth.com.
