This week, the best color is likely to be found at elevations between 3000′ and 3300′ as peak foliage moves to lower areas. With that in mind, a drive around some rural roads in the area seemed like a good way to see some developing color. The views didn’t disappoint! Today’s featured image is from Liberty Grove Church Road near Deep Gap, just before sunset. The color is getting started in this view, and can be seen coming in on the distant slopes.
