Scholars & Scones: Building a Sound Machine

February 27, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

$5

Join Sound Machines artist, Chris Capozzoli, and exhibition curator, Willard Watson III as they show us how sound machines are made! This talk will take us step by step from the lumber mill to the music hall, and Chris will show us his creative process using photographs from the construction of some of the instruments in the Sound Machines exhibit. In addition to construction of the instrument we will also learn a brief history of the guitar, how a luthier selects the woods for their instruments, and get to listen to a few of the instruments from the exhibit!

Scholars & Scones is a monthly educational program which invites patrons to spend a morning sipping coffee, eating locally-baked goodies, and learning about the latest research, writing, and creativity taking place in our region. There are complimentary breakfast goods from Backstreet Bakery and fresh cups of Hatchet Coffee Co. Dangerfield Blend will be served.
