The day dawned overcast and foggy, with mists hanging onto the slopes. The mists were rising as these photos were taken at Price Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Beech and maple trees are showing some bright yellow, and fallen leaves line the water’s edge. A hike along the Boone Fork Trail would be lovely this week! As you can see, trees at this elevation still have perhaps a couple of weeks till they show peak color.
