If we get more beautiful, sunny mornings like this one, fall color will certainly accelerate well in the coming days. Cooler temperatures and plenty of sunshine together bring the best fall foliage displays. Across the area now, leaves are showing the distinctive yellowing that indicates the near arrival of colorful foliage, but most views are still predominately green.

The maples along Bass Lake always seem to change a bit ahead of most trees in the area, perhaps because they are along water. While not yet at peak, the color at Bass Lake is very pretty today. The one-mile loop around the lake offers a lovely walk to enjoy the foliage, and there were lots of people doing just that! The loop connects to many more trails inside Moses Cone Memorial Park. There are about 26 miles of well-maintained carriage trails winding through the property, with gorgeous views around every bend.

We took plenty of photos today, so we hope you enjoy!
