The last few days have been full of blue skies, crisp mornings, and light breezes. Just glorious.

While higher slopes are beginning to thin, many trees right around Boone and Blowing Rock are still showing bright color. Some, like this maple in front of the Jones House on King Street, are just getting started. In the background, you can see the slope in the distance showing color and some bare trees as well. Most of the thinning is due to heavier winds.
