Blowing Rock is well-known for laid back leisure and locally inspired, indulgence-worthy dining. A month-long celebration of NC beers just fits here. You’ll find North Carolina brews in town all year, but for NC Beer Month, our watering holes feature local brews with a special focus. Throughout April, local restaurants are highlighting NC Beers in delicious ways, from flights to pint nights.


  • Saturday, April 7: Trout Day! Blowing Rock Brewing & Speckled Trout Restaurant & Bottle Shop present a special tasting, along with fly fishing demos in celebration of the Blowing Rock Trout Derby!  Speckled Trout is bringing in Foscoe Fishing Co to do a casting and fly tying event along with the beer. This event includes free live music from The Wingers. 12-4pm at the Speckled Trout on Main Street in downtown Blowing Rock.
  • Tuesday, April 24: Craft for a Cause – The Big Kahuna Beer Dinner at The Blowing Rock Ale House & Brewery. This event supports the Watauga County Habitat​ and proceeds from the event will help to build homes for local families in need!
    Blowing Rock Ale House & Brewery will be providing 5 unique dishes to pair with 5 Blowing Rock Brewing beers to create a delicious fundraising evening for the local Habitat for Humanity Big Kahuna Campaign. This event has two seatings with limited availability: 5:30pm and 7:30pm. Brewery tours will be provided between seatings.

Book a Zip & Sip Canopy Tour! Sky Valley Zip Tours and Blowing Rock Ale House partner to offer a Zip and Sip package. This includes a canopy tour at Sky Valley followed by craft beer and a half-priced appetizer at BR Ale House.

Where to go for NC Beers in Blowing Rock:
Blowing Rock Town Tavern, Six Pence Pub, and Foggy Rock all have great NC selections. Foggy Rock in particular is featuring Booneshine, Wicked Weed, and Appalachian Mountain Brewery, with flights of 3 for $6 and 4 for $7.50
