Eat to your heart’s content from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Chairlift rides to the Summit, mountain bike park, ping pong, corn hole, and other old-time yard games litter the festival grounds. Classic Highway performs from noon until 3 p.m. and The Lucky Strikes perform from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Climb via foot to Sugar’s 5,300’ peak as fast as you can by way of the Easy Street, Gunther’s Way, and Northridge slopes. Entry fee includes a t-shirt and downhill transportation via the Summit Express. Register in-person M-F from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Tuesday, July 2 or online anytime until 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 2. Packet pick-up Wednesday, July 3 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Thursday, July 4 from 7 a.m. until 8 a.m. Registration closes at 4 p.m., Tuesday, July 2. No same day registration. Competition begins at 9 a.m. Food and beverages are available, and the Rockabilly’s perform from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

A mountain-top fireworks show, sponsored by the Village of Sugar Mountain Tourism Development Authority, viewed from Sugar’s 5,300’ peak begins around 9:15 p.m. The Summit Express chairlift runs July 4 from 7:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. for mountain-top fireworks viewing. Ticket sales for fireworks viewing lift rides end at 8:30 p.m. No mountain bikes after 5:45 p.m. Classic Highway performs at the base lodge from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and food and beverages are available at the mountain’s base. Beverages are available at the summit.

Enjoy the two-day Oktoberfest from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the North Carolina Mountains. The festival features live Bavarian music by the Harbour Towne Fest band. Feast on German and American food & beverages. Kids can enjoy the children’s fun center and hayrides. Local & regional craft-vendors spread their wares. Take a scenic ride aboard the Summit Express chairlift to the mountain’s peak. The fall foliage is usually spectacular. Shop for winter wear or take home a souvenir from the sports shop. Lodging specials are available and much, much more. The Bike Park is closed.

Well behaved pets are welcome on Sugar Mountain Resort property. However, they must be on a leash at all times and are not allowed on any decks or inside the base lodge or on the chairlifts.
