Quality of Life Consultation

We know how important the bond is between owner and pet, and know that your relationship is affected by your pet's aging and illness. Sometimes it is hard in the animal hospital setting to fully appreciate the quality of life your pet is experiencing at home. With a home visit we can help you assess your pet's comfort level and offer suggestions of ways to make it better.

Home Hospice Care

Sometimes when the diagnosis is one that is not curable or when a disease is chronic, we turn our focus from cure to comfort. We then want to make a plan to give our pets the best quality of life for the time that we have them with us. Hospice care provides for pain control and gives you, the owner, support in making decisions concerning your pets needs. I am available to talk with you and answer questions when making the difficult decision of when euthanasia is needed to prevent suffering.

In-Home Euthanasia

When the time comes for the final act of caring, we believe that home is the most comforting place to be. We provide gentle, humane euthanasia service to pets in the privacy and peace of their home environment. We strive to treat each pet with compassion and dignity, as if it was our own.

About the Veterinarian

Dr. Laura Pearson

Dr. Laura has practiced veterinary medicine since graduating from NCSU-College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.   While growing up on a dairy farm, animals early became her main interest and passion. Her years in a variety of practice positions have led to a deep compassion for elderly and terminally ill patients.  This growing interest in providing peaceful, end of life care prompted her to create Caring Concepts to offer home hospice  and euthanasia service to patients in Caldwell and surrounding counties.
Dr. Laura is blessed to be mother to Liam and Lilly and wife to Craig Pearson.  She enjoys taking care of their menagerie of livestock and pets.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, hiking and helping Craig
with his hang gliding business.
Caring Concepts is proud to provide home hospice to patients in Caldwell County, NC and home euthanasia service to communities within a 30 mile radius of Lenoir, NC.

Caring Concepts Testimonials

Dr Laura came to our home for our 14yo family dog Chloe. Dr Laura helped us and my son with the process of Chloe passing. Dr Laura demonstrates such kindness, love and compassion for what she does for these animals. I would highly recommend her to anyone!! Thank you Dr Laura for everything you done for my family and my son.

Kris Michaels

Dr. Laura came in the middle of the night. Helped get our girl comfortable from the pain from cancer, maybe a broken bone and an acute stroke. Eased her on to the next life with grace and compassion. Dr Laura is an angel on earth, truly. After getting her comfortable, she made a paw print in a clay setting which was super sweet. Then kindly took our girl for cremation. Hard stuff, but Dr Laura was exactly what we needed last night and we are truly grateful for her service. Highly recommended! 5 ⭐️s

Words could never express the gratitude we feel for Dr. Laura. Being able to peacefully let our Rider go, in the comfort of our home, was the best possible situation. Dr. Laura is kind, thoughtful and efficient. She provides a valuable service that I didn’t even know I needed. I strongly recommend her for any hospice and transition services anyone needs for their beloved fur babies. Thank you so much!
