Enjoy the rare opportunity to visit Grandfather Mountain outside of regular operating hours and see a sunrise from the top of the mountain. Park gates open at 5:30 a.m. Due to safety regulations, participants may only visit the Mile High Swinging Bridge area during the event. The Top Shop gift shop and restrooms will be accessible during this time.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring a flashlight or headlamp and wear heavy jackets, hats, gloves and rubber-soled shoes. Spring and summer mornings can still be surprisingly very chilly at the top of Grandfather Mountain!
