Join App State’s Dr. Carol Kline to answer the questions: What does sustainability mean in tourism? How can we achieve more of it? And why would we even want to?

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council, tourism is one of the world’s largest industries, generating $9.2 trillion in 2019 and accounting for more than 10% of global GDP and 334 million jobs worldwide.

In this presentation, Kline will also lay out plans for a three-year federally funded program to boost tourism within dozens of rural North Carolina counties — called the UPLIFT Tourism Program.
