In honor of Veteran’s Day BRAHM is offering a FREE Tuesday program. Composer Donald Miller will tell us the story of creating what would become the official hymn of remembrance for the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Vietnam Veterans of America.
Composed in 1986, “Here Rests in Honored Glory,” has been performed in Arlington National Cemetery Amphitheater, the Vietnam Wall, the United States Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD.
In August 2015 Miller was presented the D-Day Medal from the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy in Normandy, France. The museum plays the song every June 6 in commemoration of D-Day. On December 28, 2018 the piece was established by law as New York State’s Official Hymn of Remembrance in honor of American Veterans.
