Chetola Resort features a sparkling display of lights each winter season! The “Festival of Lights” is free and open to the public, and you are invited to enjoy thousands of dazzling illuminations throughout the resort.
Head over to Village Thrift after the Polar Bear Plunge and enjoy a complimentary cup of cider or cocoa as well as homemade cookies! Village thrift will be open from 10am-3pm and all proceeds go to fund local scholarships through the Blowing Rock Women's Club.
Learn to paint in a relaxed atmosphere, inspired by A. Y. Jackson's "Smart River (Alaska)". Each participant goes home with a finished work of art. All materials, including canvases, acrylic paint, brushes, and aprons, are provided.

The Shred for the Cup Series is the benchmark competition series in the region, with 3 events held throughout the winter season that test skiers & snowboarders skills in a variety of park disciplines (Rail Jam, Big Air, and Slopestyle).
WinterPaws returns to Blowing Rock WinterFest with a fun and furry celebration for pet lovers! This year’s event is proudly sponsored by the Watauga Humane Society, bringing adorable adoptables, community engagement, and plenty of wagging tails to the winter festivities.

Stroll through Blowing Rock and see all the gorgeous ice sculptures! Artisan Ice Sculptures is one of only five Master Ice Carvers in the United States. Ice sculptures will be on display in front of businesses in town. Creativity abounds with our sculptures!
