In this program you'll get a chance to meet a few of the Blue Ridge Conservancy team who are working to protect the places we love. We'll get updates on some of their major projects like the Middle Fork Greenway, Northern Peaks State Trail, The Knob Boulders and Nature Preserve, and the BRC Conservation Campus.
Join BRAHM to celebrate the opening of our next exhibition, ᏔᎷᏥ ᏕᎬᏍᎬ ᎣᎩᎲᎢ Weaving our Heritage: Cherokee Baskets. The opening reception will begin in the BRAHM community meeting room for refreshments and a conversation with exhibition curator, Anna Fareillo.

Head over to McCoy Minerals and see a rough stone cut into a brilliant gem! The demonstration will be from 11am-2pm and the gemstone will be raffled off to a lucky winner!
Peter Werner will be demonstrating traditional Appalachian broom-tying, which is how he creates his whisks, cake testers, and large sweepers. This demonstration will be held on the front porch of the the Moses Cone Manor from 10am-4pm.

Dr. Houck Medford, Founder and CEO Emeritus of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation will discuss how the Parkway evolved as a “ten league canvas painted with a comets tail” to become “America’s Favorite Journey.”
Participants will explore the local ecosystem plants and wildlife through observation, sketching in pencil, watercolor pencil, ink and wash on paper. Sketchbooks and art materials will be provided for this workshop.
Explore the mountain after hours with your own personal guides during our Grandfather by Night series! You’ll discover some of the park’s nighttime wonders, watch a stunning sunset (weather permitting) and experience the mountain as never before!
