Maud Gatewood (1934–2004) is an exceptional figure in the art history of North Carolina and the American Southeast. A painter of exacting technique with a keen eye for composition and cultural commentary, her pictures capture the Carolinas (and the expanding world beyond) across much of the 20th Century.
Anna Buckner is a painter in the most expanded sense. An interdisciplinary artist and maker, she creates compositions at the intersection of textile patterning, graphic design, and painting. And other Myths is a body of work that leverages the storytelling potential of quilting within the context of painterly composition and design precision.
Alexander Hallmark (1949–2021) was an artist and longtime resident of Blowing Rock. Deeply embedded in this community, his career in the studio, though developed later in life, produced many of the works of public art that serve as visual anchors throughout this village and the wider High Country.

The Blowing Rock Community Library will be hosting a quilt sale to benefit the Library from 11am-4pm. They will also have a Hot Chocolate Story Time free for the kids after the Christmas Parade at 11am.
BRAHM is excited to announce a series of Pop-Up Art and Craft Fairs to support area artisans recovering from the impact of Hurricane Helene. In the aftermath of the storm, many fall events across the High Country were canceled, leading to a significant loss of income for local creators. These small fairs hosted at BRAHM will provide artisans with an opportunity to recover lost revenue and reconnect with the community during the holiday season.
