Advanced Placement US History students at Watauga High School researched different people, locations, and organizations using primary and secondary sources, and created both this exhibit and a digital tour/history.

Thomas McLamb is an experimental guitarist with a background in punk, hardcore, noise, and ambient sound design. His approach to music, combining both guitars and synthesizers, is inspired by other experimental guitar players like Derek Bailey, Jim O'Rourke, and Thurston Moore as well as avant-garde composers like Roland Kayn, Morton Subotnick, and Éliane Radigue.

The familiar "Tweet, tweet!" of Tweetsie Railroad's historic narrow-gauge steam locomotives will be heard throughout the Blue Ridge Mountains once again when Tweetsie opens its doors for the 2026 season. Featuring a family-friendly Wild West Adventure for children of all ages.
She edited the anthology, Had I a Dove: Appalachian Poets on the Helene Flood released in September 2025 by Redhawk Publications with all proceeds going to the Community Foundation’s Helene Flood Relief Fund.
Downer will read some of the poems from the anthology, Had I a Dove: Appalachian Poets
on the Helene Flood, as examples of narrative poetry. Stressing the importance of
telling our own stories, Downer will encourage participants to write poetry or prose
using prompts and different poetic techniques.
Lebanese-American artist Helen Zughaib paints exuberantly prismatic and patterned images that draw on the Arab experience. In her gouache and mixed-media works, Zughaib references scenes from her own Middle Eastern childhood and the plight of present-day people of Arab descent in an effort to encourage empathy and promote peaceful dialogue.
Start off your weekend with art and wellness! Artful Yoga brings mindful movement to the museum galleries to enrich body, mind, and spirit. In this special installment instructor Stacy Shamy will lead a light movement practice to wake up the body and then rest on the mat for a deep sound journey.
This is event is free and open to the public. Performances will be 20 - 25 minutes long and will take place at 2 & 3 pm. The choreography is designed so that the public can move through the exhibition while the performance is taking place.
