The slopes will be open from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday, December 25. The day will serve as a fundraiser for Appalachian Ski Mtn’s ski patrol. Customers who purchase their tickets online before midnight on Dec. 24 will receive a 50 percent discount!
Appalachian Ski Mtn. offers the region’s only late night skiing with special “Midnight Blast” sessions, offered every Friday & Saturday night all season long, with bonus holiday sessions the week after Christmas, Dec 26-31. Note the slopes close at 11:30 on December 31 to prepare for our annual Torchlight show & Fireworks Celebration.

Jazz at WinterFest is back! Get ready for an evening of Jazz at the Historic Green Park Inn. Start the evening by relaxing to the sounds of Charlie Ellis and Company playing in our lobby from 4:00pm to 6:30pm (no charge). The Polar Bear Plunge takes place at Chetola Resort every year. The brave of heart dress up and plunge into the lake to support the charity of their choice. It is free entry to watch and costs $35.00 to plunge.
This year the Rotary Chilly Chili Challenge is taking place at the Blowing Rock School Gym! Participating restaurants will be serving their special chili on Saturday, January 27th and donating a portion of the proceeds to local nonprofits!
