Evenlight’s work is handcrafted in the spirit of connecting to and caring for the earth. She often uses leathers with positive social and environmental attributes, including repurposed and low chemical leathers, as well as free-range leathers from animals that were legally hunted and used for their meat.

On Animal Enrichment Day, guests see firsthand how Grandfather Mountain cares for its resident animals. An enrichment is a special treat, new toy or even an unfamiliar scent given to the animals to break up their routines and help keep them active and intellectually stimulated. Watch enrichment demonstrations, talk directly with keepers and participate in family-oriented games and crafts.
This workshop is designed for students to create and customize their own personal limited palette, using the medium of watercolors.

Bold color and thoughtful emotion are common threads in Samuel and Ashley’s collaborative paintings. Using colors and themes of the four distinct seasons, they hope to impart a sense of safety and solace with works inspired by old world simplicity.
Morgan’s work is inspired by Victorian American women. Because women have historically been compared to delicate flowers, Morgan reinterprets that symbolism by allowing porcelain wildflower imagery to represent a woman’s inner strength.

If you have never square danced before or are a little rusty there will be instruction from 6 pm - 6:30 pm. Then the dance will kick off at 6:30 and last until about 8 pm.

The High Country Modern Quilt Guild was formed in 2016 for local artists who specialize in quilts with a modern twist. This week, twenty Guild members will offer creations to include wall hangings, quilted paintings, thread paintings, decorative stitched fabric bowls, placemats and table runners, baskets, rope bowls, hand bags, tote bags and one of a kind wearables.

Essentially self taught as a painter, Frederick “Craig” Franz has been creating art for the last 17 years. Studying art in college led to a brief career as a jeweler/craftsman and then onto his forty year career as a dental technician fabricating and sculpting porcelain crowns and bridgework.
