Stroll through Blowing Rock and see all the gorgeous ice sculptures! Artisan Ice Sculptures is one of only five Master Ice Carvers in the United States. Ice sculptures will be on display in front of businesses in town. Creativity abounds with our sculptures!
A highlight of Blowing Rock WinterFest, presented by Hendrick Automotive, the Polar Bear Plunge is guaranteed to be a chillingly good time! Jumpers raise money for local non-profits by dressing up and taking a dive into Chetola's lake.

Experience amazing artisans from juxtaposing backgrounds in Memorial Park on Saturday, January 24th from 10am-5pm. As a part of WinterFest, presented by Hendrick Automotive, a metal pour and our yearly ice carving demonstration will be happening simultaneously for an entirely new Fire & Ice Exhibition.
Warm up at the Rotary Chilly Chili Challenge , a fan-favorite WinterFest event where local restaurants team up with non-profits to serve the tastiest chili in town. Guests can sample a variety of flavorful chili recipes, vote for their favorites, and enjoy live entertainment and festive winter activities.
The WFDD 2025 Photo of the Year exhibition showcases all 52 submissions that were chosen as Photo of the Week last year and gives visitors the opportunity to vote for their favorites.
Head over to the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce from 12-3pm for, you guessed it, hot chocolate and hayrides! This is free to the public and so much fun. Don't miss this event on Saturday!
Relax and toast to the season at the WinterFest Beer Garden , featuring local craft beers, tasty bites, and a festive winter atmosphere. Guests can mingle with friends, enjoy live entertainment, and celebrate the spirit of the season in a fun, community-focused setting.
This is event is free and open to the public. Performances will be 20 - 25 minutes long and will take place at 2 & 3 pm. The choreography is designed so that the public can move through the exhibition while the performance is taking place.
“Girl Climber” Director and Filmmaker, Jon Glassberg will be present to introduce his film and participate in a short panel on the convergence of climbing, recreation, conservation, and community. Jon lived, and climbed, in Boone from 2002 – 2009 and graduated with two degrees from AppState.
This special evening invites guests to enjoy a series of five salsa lessons paired with a romantic dinner at Daingerfield's.
