Mountain Home Music and BRAHM present the Junaluska Gospel Choir Live in Concert at the Daniel Boone Native Gardens! This outdoor concert will take place in the beautiful setting of the Daniel Boone Gardens located at 651 Horn in the West Drive, Boone, NC 28607. Please bring chairs or a blanket as seating will not be guaranteed.In the event of rain, the concert will take place at BRAHM. The decision to move the concert inside will be made no later than 48 hours prior to the event. Tickets are $15 for General Admission, $10 for BRAHM & Mountain Home Music members, Students and Children under 13.ABOUT THE JUNALUSKA GOSPEL CHOIRNestled within the Junaluska neighborhood, one of the oldest predominantly African American communities in western North Carolina, the “little white church on the hill” has been home to some of the region’s most talent-rich gospel ensembles and over the years, the Junaluska Gospel Choir’s unique and eclectic sound has evolved into a passionate blend of gospel styles. Famous throughout the NC High Country for their passionate and uplifting performances in the Black and Old-time gospel traditions,  The Junaluska Gospel Choir is based in the historic Boone Mennonite Brethren Church. The choir features singers who come from multiple generations of gospel singing tradition. Joined together now with some of the region’s best rhythm and blues musicians, it’s nearly impossible to sit still during a choir performance.The Junaluska Choir sings every Sunday morning at Boone Mennonite Brethren Church at 11 a.m. The group has twice appeared at MerleFest and can also be caught performing at various churches, concert series, and festivals throughout the High Country. We hope you are ready to dance because Mountain Home Music and BRAHM present Todd Wright Quartet Live in Concert at the Daniel Boone Native Gardens! The quartet will perform a lively set of classic and contemporary Jazz numbers to get you moving. Tickets are $15 for General Admission, $10 for BRAHM & Mountain Home Music members, Children under 13.About Todd WrightAward-winning Todd Wright is director of jazz studies at Appalachian State University. He has been responsible for conducting Jazz Ensemble I and II, and teaching courses such as jazz improvisation, jazz history, jazz piano, jazz tunes, and coaching combos. He oversees the course of study for the Jazz Certification Program, and created the university’s Jazz Vocal Ensemble. He has earned degrees from University of Pikeville (KY), Appalachian State University, and University of South Florida (Tampa).In 2013 Wright was nominated for O. Max Gardner Award, given annual by the Board of Governors of the University of North Carolina to a faculty member who “has made the greatest contribution to the welfare of the human race.” He has been the recipient of several university and community service awards, and was selected a winner of the Jazz Fellowship Award given by the North Carolina Arts Council.He serves as a jazz clinician, an adjudicator ad festivals, and speaks on the history of jazz. About the Allen Boys The Allen Boys are North Carolina’s only touring Sacred Steel band and ambassadors. The Allen Boys bring a high energy, dynamic foot-stomping show that’s not to be missed. They developed their love for music in Mt. Airy, NC and learned to play a variety of musical instruments at an early age.
