Learn about Blowing Rock’s natural history and a bit of botany, as you create a life-size paper model of North Carolina’s state official state wildflower, the Carolina Lily (Lilium michauxii). All materials and tools will be provided, and at the end of this three-hour workshop, guests will take home their creation in a vase, ready for display.

Learn to paint in a relaxed atmosphere, inspired by The Eiffel Tower by Georges Seurat. Each participant goes home with a finished work of art. All materials, including canvases, acrylic paint, brushes, and aprons, are provided. A trained instructor will lead you step-by-step.
In this talk, Elizabeth Chew will consider how art shaped Americans' perceptions of the American Revolution. Works of art created during and after the war enabled Americans (first as colonists, then as citizens of a new country) to picture the stories and heroes of the fight for independence.
