Bold color and thoughtful emotion are common threads in Samuel and Ashley’s collaborative paintings. Using colors and themes of the four distinct seasons, they hope to impart a sense of safety and solace with works inspired by old world simplicity.
Morgan’s work is inspired by Victorian American women. Because women have historically been compared to delicate flowers, Morgan reinterprets that symbolism by allowing porcelain wildflower imagery to represent a woman’s inner strength.
After four days of painting "en plein air," painters are invited to display their completed works at the "Wet Paint" Art Show & Sale on Saturday, August 19th.

The dance will take place in the Wilson Education Center at BRAHM.
If you have never square danced before or are a little rusty there will be instruction from 6 pm - 6:30 pm. Then the dance will kick off at 6:30 and last until about 8 pm.

When he emerged on the national music scene during the Folk Revival of the 1960’s he was billed as a pure folk artist who learned his repertoire from his forefathers on the front porch.
Appalachian Roadshow invites us to come and sit a spell on its porch as the band shares its dynamic musicianship through songs and stories emanating from the mountains and hollers of North Carolina and Virginia, to the coal mines of West Virginia and Kentucky
The High Country Modern Quilt Guild was formed in 2016 for local artists who specialize in quilts with a modern twist. This week, twenty Guild members will offer creations to include wall hangings, quilted paintings, thread paintings, decorative stitched fabric bowls, placemats and table runners, baskets, rope bowls, hand bags, tote bags and one of a kind wearables.
The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country commences its 85th Anniversary year with its signature fundraising event and gala on Friday, August 25, 2023. The Gatsby-era themed event will take attendees back to the roaring 1920’s to experience the iconic Theatre’s Art Deco grandeur with all-inclusive food, wine and local brews, a sampling of signature cocktails, silent and live auction and an evening filled with themed entertainment.
