Celebrate Independence Day at Hickory Ridge! See a North Carolina Continental Line encampment where you can join the 1st North Carolina Regiment under the command of Colonel James Moore. See period weapons demonstrations as well as demonstrations of different skills and crafts from the colonial period. On Sunday afternoon witness a reading of the Declaration of Independence. Join us at the Dougherty House at Mystery Hill the first Saturday of each month from 2-4 pm for Storytelling Saturday! Enjoy Jack Tales and traditional Appalachian stories passed down from generations told by storytellers. Admission is included in the price of your Mystery Hill ticket, so you can also enjoy the Gravitational Anomaly, museums and Tomahawk Hill! Fun for all ages.
