Happy Fall Y’all! Today, on the first day of Fall, we went to the beloved Bass Lake to take photos. The leaves seem to be turning faster this year than usual, but Bass Lake always turns at the beginning of the season due to the age of the trees and their proximity to water. Bass Lake’s large, old trees usually stun with yellows and oranges and this year is no exception. The leaves are already starting to accumulate at Bass Lake, making for a satisfyingly crunchy walk.
We are starting to see color at the 3,000 ft elevation mark and are definitely seeing it at 4,000 and above. However, there is still plenty of green on the trees and plenty of time to come up and experience Fall color. Check back with us on Thursday for the next Fall Color Update, and don’t forget to follow along with our Daily Fall Photos, pictured above.
