Concerts in the Park

Blowing Rock’s Concert in the Park Series is an annual set of free outdoor concerts. Always on Sundays following Art in the Park, the performances offer entertainment from a variety of musical genres. Family-friendly and casual! Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Memorial Park on Main Street to enjoy the music- all concerts begin at 4pm.

June 14- 2 Crow Moon & Love Like This
Old Timey Americana & Original Blue Collar Music
2 Crow Moon is the singer/songwriter duo of Karenleigh & J Patrick from Hickory, NC. Love Like This is Sharon & Kevin Leftwich of Morganton, NC.

July 19- Angela Easterling
Country-Folk-Alternative
Angela Easterling brandishes her songwriting chops with rootsy, refreshing, homespun tunes. Her backing band, The Beguilers (bass, drums and lead guitar), master many complex styles, with instrumentation that fleshes out the stories in Angela’s songs, and adds some rocking fun. Their act is not quite country, not quite folk, but all together unique and engaging.

August 16  Ashley Heath
Soul/Folk
Ashley Heath is an Americana Musician hailing from Asheville, NC who fronts band Ashley Heath and Her Heathens. Voted #1 Acoustic/Folk Artist and #2 Songwriter of WNC by Mountain Xpress readers as well as winning the Band Competition at Merlefest 2018, Heath has set on a mission to connect with as many people as possibly through song. Heath’s vocals have been described as strong and velvety with bluesy tones, and a little twang of country add the unique and authentic twist to her sound. Heath released her first album “A Different Stream” in May 2016 and released Sophomore album “Where Hope Never Dies” with band AH&HH in April 2018. 

September 13 Down The Mountain
Americana/folk
Founded in 2018 in the Piedmont of North Carolina, Down the Mountain is a four-piece Traditional Plus band with Americana and blues roots. In the spirit of Southeastern storytellers, Down the Mountain’s original tunes are full of the tall tales one hears over a bonfire and the kind of love that only happens in a small town.

October 4- Handlebar Betty
Appalachian folk-grass
Handlebar Betty is a genre bending, harmony driven, Appalachian folk-grass band born out of Boone, North Carolina. Swapping instruments and lead vocals from song to song; Handlebar Betty creates a unique sound that is dark, driving, and earthy; bringing forth a genuine approach to acoustic/electric music.
