Welcome to Blowing Rock’s section of the Blue Ridge Parkway! Stay in Blowing Rock as a central hub to explore the Parkway either North or South of our mountain village.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is currently OPEN in the Blowing Rock area from milepost 317.5 in the Linville Falls Community all the way north into Virginia. Some storm-related closures remain in areas south of milepost 317. Blowing Rock is located at milepost 294.
Enjoy over 100 continuous miles of travel, hiking, and sightseeing from Doughton Park and EB Jeffress Park north of Blowing Rock and Boone, all the way to Linville Caverns and Linville Falls Winery to our south!
The Blue Ridge Parkway is getting some much needed repairs in 2026– Please note that closures will be staggered in the NC High Country area. Detours will be in use so you can still access your favorite Blue Ridge Parkway features as much as possible. This work begins in mid-March and is expected to be complete in fall of 2026.

Our two most well-known Parkway areas are the Moses Cone Memorial Park and Julian Price Memorial Park, together comprising the largest recreational space on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Cone Park includes Flat Top Manor, the Carriage Trails and Southern Highlands Craft Guild. Price Park features Price Lake with canoe rentals, campground, picnic areas and trails. In addition, the Blowing Rock area features some overlooks with amazing views, hiking trails, and scenic stops.

Visit the Park to tour the 20 room Colonial Revivalist mansion, hike the many carriage trails, fish for bass and trout in the lakes, and discover art at the Southern Highland Craft Guild.Julian Price Memorial Park

Enjoy 4,200 acres of rolling mountains with elevations ranging from 3,400 to nearly 4,000 feet, plus a lake, stream, hiking trails, numerous and the largest campground on the Parkway. Visitors enjoy interpretive programs, fishing, canoe and kayak rentals, and an extensive trail system.
