Blowing Rock has been honored with two Blue Ridge Country Magazine “Best of Parkway 2015” Awards. The Town won the Platinum Award for Best Small Town and the Gold Award for Best Retirement Town.
“Our readers are obviously taken with Blowing Rock as the ultimate mountain village,” said Blue Ridge Country Editor in Chief Kurt Rheinheimer. “And we’re always pleased when our own views are reinforced by our readers.”
The magazine’s 325,000 readers were polled in the fall on towns, dining, lodging, festivals and more along the parkway corridor, with awards for the Virginia and North Carolina sections. Complete results appear in the magazine’s May/June issue.
“We’re very happy to again receive awards from Blue Ridge Country readers. Of all the accolades that Blowing Rock receives, the most rewarding and meaningful are the ones like these, from folks who travel and visit destinations all across the region,” said Tracy Brown, Executive Director of the Blowing Rock TDA.
Blowing Rock’s Bistro Roca Restaurant also tied for a Platinum Award for Best Upscale Restaurant.
