Beautiful blue skies beckoned this Wednesday, and the morning sun lit up the emerging fall color on the slopes of Grandfather Mountain. Milepost 303 on the Blue Ridge Parkway has a great view of the Linn Cove Viaduct, as well as the ridge above that hosts a portion of the Tanawha Trail. The elevation here is just over 4000 feet, and it’s easy to see that peak color here is quite close!
