Today’s feature photo is from the Boone Greenway, at the park behind the Watauga County Recreation Center. While fall foliage is peaking at higher elevations in the area, locations closer to 3000 feet will follow soon. The windy conditions earlier in the week didn’t affect greener areas much. There are some areas of patchy color in peak foliage spots, but it doesn’t change the fact that the 2020 color season is among the best we’ve seen in recent years. Another view near the Greenway:
