Otter Falls is in nearby Seven Devils, and the trail was golden with fall foliage today! The Otter Falls Trail is accessible right off Skyland Drive and signage makes it easy to find the parking area. The network of trails offers various paths to enjoy the woodlands around the Seven Devils community. There’s even an observation deck right by the falls. The trail is well-maintained and not particularly difficult, but the return trip is a climb of 230 feet in elevation back to the parking area so it requires some stamina!
As with any trail in autumn, it’s best to plan for a visit early in the day to ensure a parking spot, and a less-crowded hiking experience. This High Country gem is worth a look, beautiful in any season, and just spectacular in fall!
