As a child in England, Jeremy Wade was obsessed with fishing. However, as he grew up, the rivers seemed more crowded with fishermen and the catches less mythical, and Wade’s dream faded.
Just because you are 55+ doesn’t mean you can’t adventure into the wilderness with your peers! Join Ryan, an EMT and active search and rescue member, on this 4-5 hour adventure in Harper Creek Wilderness to see one of the best waterfalls in Western North Carolina, explore an old homesite, and enjoy a delicious picnic lunch provided by The Speckled Trout Restaurant.

All throughout September, guests are invited to join the mountain’s naturalists as they count and celebrate the annual spectacle of fall raptor migration.
Junior Naturalist Program activities throughout the day will be provided specifically for children ages 5-12, but all ages are welcome!
From October 5 through 13, guests enjoy short, guided nature walks that highlight Grandfather Mountain’s fall colors. The Fall Color Rambles take place daily, weather permitting, and are included in your admission ticket.
