There is so much fall color to enjoy today! Blue skies with big, puffy clouds are providing the perfect backdrop to all the warm hues. Today’s feature image is from Railroad Grade Road in Ashe County, which follows the path of the New River for several miles. Peak color is showing in many areas, including some of the slopes along this particular drive. It’s more consistent in areas around and above 3000 feet, which means the valley views from overlooks and local attractions are still showing lots of green. Boone is at about 3300 feet and Blowing Rock is at about 3600 feet, so vibrant displays are everywhere to be found in both towns.
