The musically-eclectic Blowing Rock Music Fest returns for a fourth year to the Blowing Rock Attraction in Blowing Rock on Saturday, September 16. Kristyl Harris, the Music Fest coordinator, said, “This year’s Fest features a bunch of new regional talent, with performers that create some great fresh sounds while sticking to the roots of Appalachia. I’m really excited about Abby the Spoon Lady, who will be performing with the Fly by Night Rounders. We’re looking forward to this year’s lineup!”
Gates open at 10 a.m. and the music runs continuously from noon until sunset, with fireworks to follow (weather permitting). Tickets are $30 in advance ($40 for advance reserve seating) and $45 after September 11 through the day of the event. Kids under 12 are $10. The outdoor event will take place rain or shine. Headline entertainers include the Harris Brothers, Shelby Rae Moore, Soul Benefactor and Elvis impersonator Wayne Eulis. Other acts and groups cover a wide range of musical genres, and include Fly by Night Rounders with Abby the Spoon Lady, The Neighbors, Carolina Ray with Cecil Palmer, Carolina Gator Gumbo, Charlie Carpenter, Carolina Blue, Mitch and Masten and The Midnight Plowboys.
