oct1-nearGreenMtnOvrlk2After early predictions of a less-than-spectacular leaf season in the High Country, Western Carolina University Associate Professor of Biology Kathy Matthews has recently changed her mind: “The weather patterns that we have been having in Western North Carolina in recent weeks should mean a brighter display of fall colors than originally, thought. The drier, sunnier weather improves our chances of a brilliant fall color season.”

So there! It’s starting.

And starting today, Blowing Rock’s Daily Fall Photos & Foliage Blog is on line at blowingrock.com/fall-blowing-rock and will change as the lengthy fall color season continues. The blog includes information on natural attractions, fall festivals and events, autumn produce and suggested drives, with links to appropriate web sites for additional information.
