A cloudy start to the day still didn’t hide the emerging color in town. Our elevation won’t see peak color for a while yet, but views continue to get more colorful. Today’s photos were taken along Valley Boulevard by the trailhead for the Middle Fork Greenway.

Elevation around 3500 feet
Once complete, the Middle Fork Greenway will connect Blowing Rock to Boone with a path along the Middle Fork of the New River. A completed portion is accessible now, running one mile from Tweetsie Railroad, by Mystery Hill, and on to a pocket park with picnic tables. The trailhead is located in Blowing Rock, offering parking for vehicles and bicycles. Here’s a view of the current foliage at the trailhead:
