Watauga County is currently in a State of Emergency due to impacts from Hurricane Helene. Widespread flooding, damage to infrastructure, and limited resources have created unsafe conditions across the region.

Emergency personnel and area officials are working tirelessly to respond to resident needs, restore services and utilities, and repair vital infrastructure.

We ask for your respectful understanding as we request that leisure travel to Blowing Rock be postponed while our community stabilizes. For now, a curfew from 8pm – 8am is in place across Watauga County. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon.
