One of the best places to get on the water is Price Lake on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Blowing Rock. The surface is calm and the scenery is unforgettable. While you can bring your own craft, you can also rent a kayak or canoe right at the dock. Rentals are available April-October, and you can get them daily from now through Labor Day.
