App State Vs. East Carolina
The Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra (PRSO) is the leading professional ragtime orchestra in the United States. Under the direction of virtuoso Andrew Greene, PRSO recreates the syncopated stylings of a bygone era - Ragtime, Theater, and Dance music, along with underscoring classic silent films using an immense archive of over 15,000 original orchestral scores.
From September 30 through October 8, guests enjoy short, guided nature walks that highlight Grandfather Mountain’s fall colors. The Fall Color Rambles take place daily, weather permitting, and are included in an admission ticket.
Embrace your nocturnal side at Grandfather Mountain through Creatures of the Night & Bonfire Delight, the park’s after-hours program where guests enjoy rare after-dark tours, fireside tales and a chance to meet the park’s nighttime residents.

All proceeds from Mining For A Purpose go to the Cancer Patient Emergency Fund. This year there will be a gemstone raffle, a $1 raffle, Silent Auction, rubber duck races, and other activitites all day. Both Doc's Rocks and McCoy Minerals are participating.

The Studio Craft movement of the 20th Century witnessed a broad resurgence of artists working in mediums historically understood to be less precious than their fine art counterparts. Clay, metal, glass, wood, and fiber were the materials of daily life, constituting the tools and wares of domestic and professional labor.
Grandfather Mountain’s Fall Color Ramble wraps up with a day full of fall-color activities, including naturalist talks and additional rambles, allowing participants to explore and admire the annual phenomenon.
Visit Grandfather Mountain for a day of nature programs about animals that some consider creepy and crawly! This fun-filled celebration includes an opportunity to trick-or-treat on the mountain and then watch special Halloween enrichments be given to the animals.

This year, some mischievous elves have been tinkering with Santa’s Vortex Generator and they accidentally set it off early! Now, 12 of santa’s elves are scattered across our mysterious hillside and santa needs your help to bring them back.
This exhibition brings together a range of Hall’s compositions and begs the question, “What constitutes a landscape?” Moreover, why is landscape as a concept and signifier so persistent across the visual cultures of the past and present? In the case of Hall’s paintings and collages, the artist uses broad swaths of color to build her compositions which are at once visually dense while also flattening the dynamic vistas she interpreted.

A Carolina Snowbelle Christmas is certain to feature something for everyone! From beloved classics like "Merry and Bright", "Sing" and "Like This" by The Carolina Snowbelles director Cheryl Cutlip.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the Blowing Rock from 12:30 - 3:00 PM every Saturday from 11/26 - 12/24. Children can come visit and tell them all about their wish list.
The slopes will be open from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday, December 25. The day will serve as a fundraiser for Appalachian Ski Mtn’s ski patrol. Customers who purchase their tickets online before midnight on Dec. 24 will receive a 50 percent discount!
Appalachian Ski Mtn. offers the region’s only late night skiing with special “Midnight Blast” sessions, offered every Friday & Saturday night all season long, with bonus holiday sessions the week after Christmas, Dec 26-31. The Shred for the Cup Series is the benchmark competition series in the region, with 3 events held throughout the winter season that test skiers & snowboarders skills in a variety of park disciplines (Rail Jam, Big Air, and Slopestyle).
The second event of ATP’s signature Shred for the Cup Series, the Big Air, is scheduled for Sunday, January 21.

Learn to paint in a relaxed atmosphere, inspired by Konstantin Gorbatov's A Winter's Day. Each participant goes home with a finished work of art. All materials, including canvasses, acrylic paint, brushes, and aprons, are provided. A trained instructor will lead you step-by-step.

Join Girls Go Shred for their final Ladies Park Night of the season on Saturday, February 24 from 7pm-9pm at Appalachian Ski Mountain! Admission to the event is free with the purchase of a lift ticket and open to women of all ages and abilities, both snowboarders and skiers.

Snarky Puppy is a collective of sorts with as many as 20 members in regular rotation. At its core, the band represents the convergence of both black and white American music culture with various accents from around the world. Japan, Argentina, Canada and the United Kingdom all have representation in the group’s membership. But more than the cultural diversity of the individual players, the defining characteristic of Snarky Puppy’s music is the joy of performing together in the perpetual push to grow creatively.
